Re: MN breeding mallard numbers down, other species up

Some years back while I was hunting Bills up near Alex in mid Nov, there was a flock of 300+ Spoonies in the open water (the shallows were froze). Anyway, I had my Bills and only a few ringers around and had a couple of them and no Redheads around and 2 hours till sunset and the ice was freezing......

Re: The "Donald" for Prez?

The popular support for Donald is so overwhelming his campaign hired extras from a casting agency in New York and paid them $50 to show up and cheer at his announcement speech. The one thing I will say in his favor given the above - at least he buys his support out in the open... he's worth billion...

Re: DNR wants to know what anglers think about....

About the frozen extras, how do they taste after being reheated in the oven? I've been playing around with the idea of saving a months worth of little pike and rock bass (fish I usually throw back) and making a big batch of frozen fish patties, I figure it would be a great substitute for the crappy...

Re: DNR wants to know what anglers think about....

You can also make fish sticks this way...just shape them into sticks instead of patties. That's all the stuff you get from the store is; ground up fish that's breaded and fried that you put on a baking sheet and reheat.. Except those are made from Minnesota Mountain Trout. I have no problem filetin...

Re: Avian X Teal

See, but you need an "early spread" so you can get more in a bag. Decoys are a numbers game. 1 doz mallard vs 2 doz teal. For early season I highly recommend an "Alt J" spread, so it looks like two "Js" back-to-back making a double hook with two landing pockets. It pla...
