Re: blinding on private property

I'm not even talking about building a blind, just talking about hunting out of your boat/canoe in the emergent veg. adjacent to private land. Buddy believed you had to be some distance away from their property line even if you're in wet cattails or bulrushes. But that's not the case.

Re: Opening weekend - how would you rate it?

Northern MN. It was a water body that, on a map, appears like it SHOULD have ducks. So I assumed I'd be setting up on some crappy leftover spot, but to my surprise, there was only the one other group. Also, it wasn't that the lake was loaded, I just ended up sitting where the ducks wanted to be. And...

Re: Opening weekend - how would you rate it?

By far the least work I've ever done for an opener spot, and it was one of my easiest limits ever. Showed up at 6 o'clock to a lake I hadn't scouted, paddled for 15 minutes, put out maybe 14 decoys, and took some lay-up shots for a bag of woodies and mallards. Only one other group out there. Who kne...

blinding on private property

Hey Al can you direct me to the language in the regs that stipulate how you may position your blind on a privately-owned shoreline of a body of water?

I will also search on my own but I believe you may answer before I find it.

The funniest part about this thread is that Al is commenting.

Re: The debates

My pessimistic theory is that they are caving to the pressure and doing "further investigation" but ultimately they'll just confirm what they said last time and hope that this time it shuts everyone up.

Re: Black ducks.....

shot one on a big, popular hunting lake up here just by dumb luck, and another by jump-shooting some way, way remote ponds on private land. I bet I've seen less than 5 in my 15 years of duck hunting.

HFW, DNR, and Teal

Hey Fish Felon, Your latest story reminded me of your promise to hold the DNR accountable for the hypocrisy of ignoring HFW but listening to the cries of "concerned duck hunters" regarding the early teal season. How's that going? I'm sure I'm not alone in marveling at your posts on here. M...
