Re: 2022 Weather, drought , & flood related

Was out in Central MN over the weekend, lots of standing water in fields from the recent storms. Crow River was as high as its been for a long time. Farmers have lots of planting to get done yet! Talked with a friend of mine who lives on the southeast side of ND. He hasn't seen water like this sprin...

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

Went of a few weeks ago already in SD, hunted a permanent spread in a pasture so didn't deal with mud, average around 20 birds a day. Mornings were tough with lack of wind and dealt with frost every morning. we had around 3400 decoys out, 1200 full bodies. Next year he is only running a full body sp...

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

With the extra fuel I would spend pulling my trailer out there I really wouldn't save that much. Heck this fall it maybe cheaper just to hunt with a guide more and save the fuel cost.

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

All of my snow goose spread hasn't been out since the last time we went to Saskatchewan a few years ago now. It won't go out this spring. Going with an outfitter the end of next week. Thought about getting rid of the stuff but it really isn't worth much now.

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

Looks like the weather is getting a bit warmer for the days I am hoping to go out to SD. Mid 50's now. Its going to be a little bit more expensive now with the cheap fuel. Looks like an expensive summer fishing and fall hunting season coming up

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

I planned on going out for a few days March. 17th might have to delay it a few days. Weather looks below average for those days yet.

Re: Over taxed

I was pretty lucky when I finished my 2 year machine tool degree came out with very little debt and make a decent living. I see lots of kids start at my work with 100k + in school loans to only make a few thousand more then I do. But thats what is taught that you need that 4 year degree.

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

The mud is the whole reason I will go thru a guide and not use my own stuff. I'd rather pay $200.00 a day and not deal with cleaning a 4 wheeler and a whole inside of my trailer and cleaning decoys. Dealt with the mud enough when I was younger out chasing snows. It will be nice hunting over a full b...

Re: Spring Snow Goose 2022

I want to get out to SD for a 2 to 3 day trip. Planning on just going thru a buddy of mine who has runs a few clients every year. He only hunts a large spread in a good migration area. He sets up in a hayfield so we don't have to deal with the mud.
