Re: Why Wear Bands in the Blind?

^^^^if bands are impeding your ability to go to the bathroom, you might be doing it wrong.

Re: MWA all done............

Hipsters. There's a somewhat sizable movement of hipster men...and seemingly even more women.....the type of urbanite chicks that care about getting locally sourced eggs at their favorite Target......that are coming into the hunting fold. Maybe the hipster dude all tatted, bearded, and wearing matc...

Re: MWA all done............

I don't know that I entirely agree with the "hunting will be a thing of the past in the next "x" years". Maybe long term but short term, in other regions it'ss only becoming a bigger more complex issue. Right now the public land/public hunting drum is being beat in other circles ...

Re: Waterfowl Gear on Craigslist

Anybody have any experience filling the keels on carrylite's to make them weighted keels? How did it work? as poor high school kids we would fill water keels with sand and caulk them shut. Worked well although wouldn't last as long as a factory weighted keel. In our minds back then why would you wa...

Re: Any 28 gauge users out there?

never really gave it any thoought until I saw the habitat flats guys promoting them in the last few years. Tight quarters for ducks paired with a good load and they sound like a devastating light weapon. Look around for their youtube stuff. I'd have a tough time going smaller than a 20ga but wouldn'...

Re: Waterfowl Gear on Craigslist

gut feeling is alot of people are getting out of it. The guys with 2 dozen decoys and hunt a ccouple weekends a year are either a) selling their stuff and using a buddy that is more serious or b) abandoning all together. That's my assessment based on the last 10yrs or better of having a pile of fair...

Re: Bands

^^^ I wouldn't say less interesting in my eyes, just less impressive to get one but when I do I'm still fascinated by the birds story..... In fact some of the most interesting bands I've shot have been 8, 9, 10 yr old birds that were banded as babies and I shot them within miles of the banding site....

Re: Bands

Jack miner duck band and a blue wing band are the only two really neat ones. I only have 1/2 dozen duck bands total and all of them have been memorable. I dont know how many goose bands (20ish) but dont much care. Finding banded geese in MN is like finding a truck with rusty rocker panels. I tend to...
