Re: Looking for Mortgage Recommendations

I wouldn't shy away from doing it online. I had quite a complex situation with 9 townhomes and my house. I was in a pickle as I had trouble doing a refi as my income is only a small fraction of what it was. I tried for 2 years to get it done. I finally found an online broker/agent that could put tog...

Re: Got to love the Teachers union

Sadly, a lot of these predators appear to be stellar individuals in service to youth and their communities. That's how they gain the trust of the adults involved. Thus, in spite of overwhelming evidence that is inconsistent with the man you think you know, you have a hard time accepting that he real...

Remember when they told us not to wear camo in public

That's what they told us in hunter-ed class. We don't want to intimidate or cause fear in non-hunters. Times have changed. "Preppy yet edgy Oxford made with camo-print pony hair and leather accents" Camo Shoes.jpg http://tinyurl.com/q8o43yz Next thing you know, it will be trendy to haul a ...

Re: Engine oil - How low can you go?

I don't think brand really matters. I run whatever name brand Fleet Farm has on sale (currently Shell) except in the winter when I have the local Exxon station change it.

Awesome. My wife Diane has been cancer-free for 20 years. I'll never forget that awful call from her doctor.

Re: Engine oil - How low can you go?

Thanks for the insight. The Tahoe is a 2006 with a 6 quart capacity. My son reported to me that he did change the oil a few days ago and apparently all is well now. My 2004 Suburban with 150K miles uses less than a quart of oil between changes, so I find the oil use in the Tahoe which probably has t...

Engine oil - How low can you go?

My son checked the oil on his girl friend's Tahoe. He had to add 3 quarts to bring it up to where it is supposed to be. I was skeptical that the engine would run without triggering the oil pressure light. I figured he didn't push the dipstick all the way in. But he insists it really was that low. Is...

Re: You got OCD tendencies, too?

Hey Bill, so what caused the fire? The fire investigator thought it either started in an old stereo or a halogen trouble light. I believe the later. We were just finishing a renovation of a townhome we bought to rent out. Tenants were moving in that evening. The garage was a mess at the time as I w...
