Re: Honkers

Many of the pits in Rochester use old metal garage doors for the sides. If you are going to use a sliding top, using actual rollers in the garage door track makes the tops slide easily.

Re: Stay warm tonight.

I am no electrician either. A surge protector should protect against over-voltage. We have a whole house surge protector that wires into the breaker box. What we experienced was frequent under-voltage. I don't think a surge protector does anything in that instance. Under-voltage can damage motorized...

What you do to ruin the delicious taste of teal, mallards and woodies?
We brine most of our birds, coat them liberally with minced garlic (from a jar), pepper, and a few drops of Tobasco and bake them.

They are one of the best conservation organizations in the state. They have the funds in reserve to move fast when an opportunity arises and grab land or rights that guberment can't respond to quick enough. Much of the land they keep is open to public hunting.

Re: Snow Goose Hunters

I've tried it 3 times (once with Chuck) and am hooked. I haven't hit the mother lode yet. It seems like I am always a day too late. My wife Diane has joined me twice and she enjoys it too.

Re: So what weird event/s have you seen while hunting?

We had shot some rabbits and I was rinsing them out in the lake. A mink swam across the bay and was ten feet away from me on shore hissing and snapping it's teeth at me. I was about to drop the rabbit, but held my ground a bit and it ran away.

Re: Stay warm tonight.

We lost power Sat night. This stuff never happens during the day. The power would dive every ten seconds. Xcel showed up at 11PM then disappeared until 2 AM. They installed a new transformer between 3 AM & 5 AM. That had to be insanely cold work. There were 3 guys and it looked like they were ta...
