Re: Poaching advice

If that’s the case I’d be asking myself, is 7-8 shot lead grouse loads going to be capable to kill ducks. the answer to this is absolutely yes... I'm old enough to remember legally shooting lead in Canada and we would often use trap loads in tighter quarters over water. Eventually they went non-tox...

Re: Septic systems wtf

Reasons to fix because you asked: 1) a drain field isn't the only thing that can fail in a sewer system so if not now, at what point do you start fixing it? If you have a 30 yr old system and for the sake of argument your pump and everything else is in similar shape I'd want it replaced. 2) You'll a...

Re: Life Changes

Thanks! I'd never have white personally but I struggle with what I like and what sells/people want. And gotta remember that when I'm making my choices which is tough. I've been in so many homes over the years though I have a pretty good idea what people would like. For many, that's white...even tho...

Re: 2022 Season

I gotcha... IMO in MN the point is moot. If they trimmed 15 days off the back of the season: a) there's a few groups of hunters still doing well but the vast majority of mn fowlers have hung up their waders for the season, but hunters would still cry foul b) on the flip side there's likely so few bi...

Re: 2022 Season

Here's the DNR's release on seasonsform 2021: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/wildlife/waterfowl/waterfowl-public-input.html Nothing really "announced" i.e. limits/etc until late summer though when the synopsis comes out. Guessing the season structure will be identical to the above link only b...

Re: Bunk Trailer vs Roller

I have a 18' welded mod-v on a bunk and wish like heck sometimes I had a roller.

not because of boat durability issues though, mostly (like bullet mentioned) sketchy accesses.

Re: Elon Musk & Twitter

We need an age limit on presidential candidates, we have a minimum and a term limit but why there isn't a max age is beyond me......

Re: Boat/motor combo for river

well yes and no..... I still know a fair amount of trappers and most are doing way more than their avg waterfowling counterpart to replace themselves. Aside from that yes numbers on both ends are definitely dwindling, with trappers dropping faster but the difference is on the trapping side the sport...

Re: Boat/motor combo for river

I think there's still a huge market for them from muskrat/beaver trappers and other skinny water recreators outside of the blue haired waterfowlers. They're a wonderful boat no doubt but it's been a long time since I've seen one I would have considered to be a "deal". About 10-15 years ago...

Re: Boat/motor combo for river

be prepared to get out the checkbook. I grew up hunting out of grumman's and other skinny water boats. Been looking for one the last couple years but also refuse to pay the $2500 for a 1960's aluminum boat strictly for nostalgia. This is about the best $$ you'll find: https://duluth.craigslist.org/b...
