Re: Open water hunting on lake Pepin?

Can you guys that have done this comment on the safety risks of this type of hunting? I am interested in trying it, but I don't have a death wish. It would seem that there are risks getting in and out of the layout as well as being in the layout itself. How much wind can handled without incurring si...

Re: 2015 Bow Hunting Reports

3 days sitting in the rain on a metro hunt and not a single deer seen. Took a break for 3 hours today during the heavier rain and there was a fresh scrape on the trail when I got back.

Re: Wolf Replacement Recoil Springs for Benellis

I put in a Sure Cycle in my SBE 1. It works better than the original and cycles most target shells. It's stainless, so no more rust.

Re: Hunting Rivers

I love hunting small rivers from my kayak. Success really does vary considerably year to year depending on the success of the rice crop. A place I titled 400 Mallard Point in my GPS was only that for a single year. I would be very interested in teaming up with someone where we each solo hunt contigu...

Re: Gas Tax Increase for Road Repairs....

I am all for a temporary gas tax to improve our roads. It will be a boon for business and increase MN competitiveness as business travel becomes much more efficient. A gas tax increase also has conservation benefits as it may slightly reduce consumption. At $2/gal, we are considering driving the Sub...

Re: Dodge Hellcat Challenger Crash....

The Charger was one of the hot cars back in the day. A friend of mine had one, he hopped it up. Only got 3 miles per gallon. Dad owned a gas station. They figure he was doing at least 110 when he lost control and headoned into a big straight truck. His car was about a foot tall coming out the other ...

Re: Gun Safe Reccomendations

Fires do happen. We had major damage to our home and belongings in 2003. It started in the garage, likely from a halogen light. Over $400K in damage between belongs and the house itself. Fortunately, we had great insurance (American Family). Anything aluminum in the garage melted. Stuff in the rest ...
