Re: CWD, Deer Farms, etc: Front Page STrib

There was one comment in there that said it was really challenging.......because they had to wait for a deer they could afford to shoot.

Re: Base Layering for the Cold

I bit the bullet and bought a set of WoolX. That stuff is not only warm, it is amazingly comfortably. Wool has many great properties but one that is often overlooked is that you can wear it for a week and it don't stink.

Re: Ron Schara

Doug Smith always did the outdoor news beat behind Anderson and Schara, covering the capitol and legislative beat. A few times a year he would do really well written story on some exotic place he went such as canoeing the Seal River in Navut or just a pheasant hunt to the Dakotas with a couple of go...

Re: Deer Hunting

I used to love deer hunting. At times we did a lot of deer drives which was a lot of fun and had good success but finding people you trust became hard. My brother always brought some of the worst. I quit for a year because of it and my brother stopped coming. Hunt public lands and move my portable s...

Re: DNR Struggles To Incinerate Deer Carcasses

It was originally found in captive cervids in Colorado and captive crevid farms have a high incident rate. There is no test yet for live deerso any urine products sold could scatter all over the country. High concentrations of deer and deer feeding are a big part of the spread. I wouldn’t eat one. I...

Re: Adulting

There is always some trade offs. Enjoy this time in life, it goes fast. Focus on quality over quantity. I always had a cabin to go to so we had a place to go and hunting was good. We at times took our kids out of school MEA for the whole week. That got harder as they got in high school but we had so...

Re: Moose Hunt---Proof Of DNR Incompetence?

I am from the NW corner and spend a fair amount of time there. Brain worm was the prime culprit. If wolves were a big part then yotes and fox would not have been super abundant in the 70s through the 90s. The 70s was when the deer populations really took off. Wolves moved in after the moose were gon...
