I have grown up fishing pool 4 that has a 15" minimum size.... most fish are 14 3/4 " but it also is a place were tourney anglers need a 5 fish 40lbs plus stringer to even be in the $$.... that said I do not feel slots work or will work unless it protects a very large size class of fish to...

I have 2 good buddy's who have been shooting 6 man limits of mallards in SD. that said they are putting HUGE miles on and never able to hit the same field twice. Yes I have in diff. spots one you hunt the river like your home water the other is field hunting but the terrain is hilly ( need 2 rigs to scout)

you can tailor a 12 gauge load.... buy using diff. powder, primer, hull, wad and chokes or tailor it to a gun and choke.

my comp gun likes 1 1/8 oz loads at 1145 FPS so then I found a powder that used a AA hull and a AA12 wad with the lowest chamber pressure so the gun kicks less.

I reload rifle for those wildcats I have.. But the big reason I reload is for something to do in the winter months. I shoot in 2 diff. leagues in the summer trap and skeet and go though around 5,000 plus rounds. I can reload all my stuff for the same price as the cheap shell but use premium componen...
