Re: Shotgun Question

Awesome post dfrauenkron. This is definitely the type of info I'm looking for. I have a buddy that bought a VersaMax when they first were released and he ended up having to send it back TWICE. That didn't necessarily scare me away because I think I've horror stories about every major brand. I really...

I have the SV that has the "Improved" trigger guard. I still have an issue with it.

Re: Shotgun Question

It's all good. I've debated the usefulness of 3.5" shells. It's just if I'm going to get a new shotgun, I'd like the option.

Re: Shotgun Question

If you want I can start a post about shell selection, but I'm just interested in personal experiences with these guns.

Shotgun Question

I know everyone is going to say go with a gun that fits you well, but what I'm looking for is any negative feedback regarding any of the new waterfowl shotguns. When I say waterfowl shotguns, I'm specifically talking about semi-automatic 12 gauges, 3-1/2" weapons. Right now I'm shooting a Benel...

Re: Best Waterproof waterfowl gloves

I have a pair of Sitka decoy gloves. Waterproof and insulated, but damn expensive. I've had them for two seasons and they're still waterproof. Another good pair is Browning Dirty Bird waterproof gloves. Not as insulated, but waterproof and comfortable.

Re: Plucking ducks

Why don't people pluck their birds? I understand in the early season with young, pinny birds, but you get a much better final product when cooking since the duck fat is rendered into the meat. It takes a little more time but it makes you feel a little better about not wasting much of the bird. Just ...

Re: Smokers

I have a Traeger Texas and use it about three times a week. Easy electric pellet smoker that you can use as a wood fired oven to bake anything from cookies to a pie. Pretty sweet and makes great jerky.

Re: Boat blind...

I had a 16' lund with a SkyBuster blind just like DiverLines. I couple years ago I got a 1636 Phowler Sneak Boat with a layout blind on it and will never go back to a wall blind like that. I always found it difficult to mimic surrounding grass colors without having to reapply fresh vegetation weekly...

Open Water?

Looking to get out this week/weekend. If anybody knows where open water is feel free to PM me. I have an open seat or would be willing to tag team a lake as well.
