Re: Mississippi River below Pepin

Drove from lake city to Winona today, isolated pockets of open water. Pray for some wind.

I like her. She worked her way thru the industry working for free at times. It's too easy to hide behind a computer screen.
The people where she shot the lion also benefit.

Mississippi River below Pepin

Mississippi river below Pepin is in the late stages of being totally locked up with ice jams. I was afraid it would happen with no wind. There a paddlewheeler that just headed upstream and I see they just shut down the wheel and are sitting there. My guess would be a large piece of ice got jammed. I...

Re: Yotes!

I've got an older Simmons pro50 6-24 by 50mm. You can see across some of the biggest fields at night with minimal light (as long as there's snow).Far from the best, but it's done the job for a number of years.

Re: Yotes!

I've always found that most of the perfect moonlight nites are too windy for many of the spots I have. I usually don't realize it until I drove all that distance to open up the car door and find the wind blowing 30 mph.

Yotes!

So does anyone else chase yotes once the snow falls? I usually get a few every year. I make it out 10-12 times a year over the past few years.

Prefer mouth calling over my cheap electronic call, someday would like to get a FoxPro.

Re: stories of "I should have thought that one through"

I did a similar thing hunting the river. Forgot the water raises a bit when a barge goes by. Thanks to my son he informed me the boat was floating away.

Re: Bow Hunting Reports...Whats Left of the Season Anyway

I'll try to get out one more time. The spot I have this year really sucks and have seen very few deer. I'll make it out one more time to pull all my stands. At least my son shot his first bow kill this year at the age of 13. One deer is enough for us.
