From the DNR: In the south duck zone (south of Highway 212), the duck season will run from Saturday, Sept. 27, through Monday, Sept. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 11, through Saturday, Dec. 6.
I personally think it sucks not being able to hunt for the 1st 9 days of the season. If we get an early freeze up, we loose at least 6 good days of hunting.
So what do think of the new split for the S zone?

I suggested that as a replacement for the a 2 day Teal season, meaning a 2 day any duck season in Mid Sept. that counts towards the 60 or 50 day season framework. But the USFWS says nothing sooner than 9-21 for reg hunting seasons.

Our first split was something like the 21-22 then five off and started back up on the traditional opener.
That I could live with if it stayed like that. This stupid changing the split every year is no good. Seen more groups out hunting during the splits than i can count on both hands. In other words it's confusing for the couple weekends a season guys.

season doesn't run late enough for this guy......... wish it went into the 3rd week of Dec.

Works for me. I don't hunt ducks much so don't really care about missing some teal. I'll bow hunt as much as possible until it opens up again.
