This is why you should not mount a Wood duck box on a tree

Photos are worth 10,000 words in this case.

Where can one get all the necessary supplies for the boxes and guards?

Al,

I know it would take a lot out of your day - but I think it'd be awesome to see a quick write-up on how to get started with wood duck boxes & MHN's. On both public & private land.

I've seen very few in my immediate area and I'd like to start changing that.

Agreed. Our creek/pasture is loaded with woodies every year. I'd like to help them out a little if possible.

Prairie Pothole Chapter of the MWA, http://www.prairiepotholeday.com/Prairi ... _Store.htm On the guards, forget the A, B, C sizes, just buy the MWI ones instead. If using a 4x4 or 2-2x4s for a post, no bracket is needed. If using a metal post, 2 bracketts are needed with the guard.
