Looking for mallard ducklings ended up like a crime scene investigation (CSI).

Biologists radio tagged 4 mallard ducklings to learn more about duck predation on the refuge.

Instead of following the signal from the radio tags to mallard ducks the signal led them to the swallowed ducklings in the belly of a western fox snake. This x-ray confirms the radio tags were in the snake’s stomach.
