I think more along the lines that if a 1 1/2 year old deer is only a spike that it will never grow into a massive set of antlers and always be mediocore, rather than actually staying a spike.

Do bucks usually have more than just a fork at 1.5 years? Can't imagine a spike or a fork is really that different, lol

Lots of 1.5 year olds have 5, 6, 7, 8 or even more points. Personally, I don't understand the "cull buck" method that some people go by when a deer is so young.

The "cull buck" is just an excuse to shoot a smaller buck while still trying to pretend you are doing QDM. More of a justification to yourself or buddies that shoot big bucks. #firsthandknowledge

Haha your brother enjoys that excuse. I suck at QDM, but I'll never shoot a basket rack 1.5 year old.
