Same, was the one hunt I promised to take my dog on and haven't made it out.

I think we might hit a game farm just so he can get his fix

Group hunt possibilty?

I was on one in Feb or March one year and it was much better than I expected. As I recall, two guys brought dogs. Young ones. The game farm supplied us with a very old lab. He could barely walk and seemed to be almost blind. The young dogs were running wild and seldom kicked up anything. The old dog just lumbered along and poked his head in here or there and kicked up more than the other two combined.

I'd be open to it, I mostly just go to let the dog run himself tired. He's not trained for it, but he'll usually stay within range, flush and most of the time make the retrieve. As long as I do my part we go home with an expensive dinner

I have seen less than a dozen roosters this fall while putting loads of miles on my truck. I'd almost feel bad shooting any this year with the population so low.

I've ran the idea thru my head of bringing my dog to the game farm as well just for her to kick some birds. Was driving along and saw a hen in the ditch so we hopped out on the other side of the road, walked back, then I sent her scurrying thru the ditch just to have her find one

I have been out a couple times this year but only for a couple hours each time at most. Wasn't able to get any birds up. I have had my dogs for a few years now and it seems like since I got them the pheasant numbers have been declining. So I took them to a game farm for the first time on Saturday. It was my first time at a game farm too. It was a fun experience. The dogs got on some birds, my buddy and I got some shooting. I'll probably try get out to a game farm once or twice more this winter.
