Had 2 different 1.5 year old bucks chasing does in one of my food plots and grunting. Fun to see the rut start.. but many of my bucks have slipped into being nocturnal. Showing up infront of cameras just after and before shooting light. I can be confident that my motivation for work will be plummeting for the next couple of weeks.

Scrapes are popping up everywhere, and I have 2 cameras on video mode set up over good sized scrapes. I'd love to share some footage. Anyone know how to share a video on this forum?

Try photobucket or might have to do YouTube

Well no luck on my all day sit yesterday. Saw pheasants, wood ducks, a ton of squirrels and a few does. I invited my buddy to come down and hunt with me and he had a shooter (10) at 60 yards at last light. Might have had a chance but then it started chasing does.

Had a fun night...even though I couldn't see much. Walked up on one doe going to the stand. Right at dark the woods came alive but it was just too dark to tell if they were bucks or does. There were at least 2-3. First one passed within 30 yards but too dark to make it out with all the tree branches. Could hear another one behind it so I let out a couple grunts...it paused a long time and then took a path closer to the stand but could only make out the silhouette. I was standing ready for a long time, I was excited hoping it was a buck and a grunt would tick him off. Try again tonight I suppose...wind should be better for sitting on the edge of the plot...I sat in a different spot last night just to get a little broader view and to play the wind.

Wind was perfect direction tonight but holy crap it picked up as soon as I got in the stand, I thought it was going to be a really good night with the lighter winds earlier. While walking out to the stand had a small buck creep up on me...looked over and there he was at 40 yards. That was all I saw

Headed out in about an hour. Going to be a perfect night to sit; cold and low wind that's in my favor for a stand with a new shooter.

Saw 10-12 deer. 3 bucks but couldn't tell size. They were all too far away in the neighbors freshly picked cornfield.

Was a fun night, no monsters seen though. Jumped one walking to the stand. This guy came in and hung out for a bit...then he ran into the woods and started fighting with another buck I couldn't see. While he did that then a 3 and 5 pt came in.

Skipped birds this morning, just sipping on coffee in the truck waiting to start my walk

Saw a 4 pt right away this morning. Then about 250 yards away watched 2 deer messing around couldn't tell what they were through the binos. Then had a basket 8 pt and another 4 pt come in. Bucks sure are moving. Just need a big one to move through. Was cold this morning I underdressed and only made it 3 hrs.
