2014 Archery Season

Fresh track from the big boy but these were the only tracks on my land. One doe and fawn from 3 nights ago on camera. Didn't see anything. I'll go a few more times but know its over for the year...they've moved on.

I'm going to try to get out one of the next two nights and whack a baldy before I get the ice fishing itch and call it a year...

Walking out noticed 3 fawns running around playing about 300 yards away so crept down to the low spot they went into. Was 7 deer down there all does and fawns. Let them wander away then walked to the stand. Didn't see anything. Some deer on camera, couple small bucks, only one day pic. But seemed to be some tracks around at least. See how windy it gets tomorrow may try to go out afternoon again.

Work got in the way this afternoon...had 2 emergency calls. GF said I can skip her family Christmas tomorrow and go

I think with the warm weather this weekend, and the lack of snow, the deer are basicly in summer mode. No need to get up and go feed early, fields are all open. they really seemed to spread out a bit more this weekend. the last 2 weekends they were all in 1 big herd, now they are scattered all over the property. I got lucky tonight and got the last decent buck that was hanging around.

3:30 today did a 2 person deer drive. he came out at 60 yards hauling some major ass. I hit him about 2 feet back and high, but he went right down

Congrats nice deer! I had hopes for yesterday, saw deer feeding in fields while I drove to my land, but didn't see anything in the stand. Couple small bucks and does on camera. One small buck was missing one side of his antlers.
