Dang man sorry to hear about your nice deer, this time of year it's almost certainly a poached deer or wounded that predators got to. Winter/Snow isn't really deep enough for yotes to start taking down mature healthy deer, unless you're in wolf country?
Are you a powerbelt fan for life? My experience is they work for tails' but shrapnel like an SOB on anything like an elk. They qualify for CO's elk under the "no sabot, no scope and loose powder" law but still refuse to shoot them as they just don't hold together on thick skinned game... If you're interested, I have some pretty fascinating load data stuff I could send your way with different loads and working with primarily blackhorn 209. If you're a powerbelt and 2 or 3 pellet kinda guy that's fine too. As a self proclaimed tinkerer though I'm always trying different loads
