Maniac--- I muzzeloader hunted Colorado for elk in 07, 08, 09. I had only shot 1 deer with smoke before then. I bought power belts for Colorado because of the laws you pointed out. The first 2 elk I shot had pass through with a lot of damage. The other didn't pass through , but I found the bullet in the near cutting it up and it was completely mushroomed. I think they were 350grain bullets. With 777 powder. I have loved them ever since. I shoot the 250grain aero tip power belts at deer now. Still use 777 powder.

Nice... You had better luck than I did then, ran into issues with them staying together but it's been so long since I shot them (2004ish was the last time I vowed to never shoot a PB) and I can't say I remember exactly what model I was shooting... Just left a bad taste in my mouth. I had far less time then and shot what a salesmen sold me... A lot more manufacturers have come on the market now with sabot-less slugs for such an occasion (I think Hornady even makes a bonded one) if I ever went back under those laws id look hard that way but next year will be New Mexico where scopes and sabots are legal!!!
