That's a nice buck. Man maybe I should have put my camera back out to see if the deer are coming back, if they are still wearing antlers might actually have a chance of finding something

Last couple weeks:

I picked up a 2YO matching set to a deer I had on camera last year. He was a nice 130ish deer last year (the set I have is maybe 100" inches) but I'm fairly certain he got bopped during gun season.I showed trail cam pics to a buddy that hunted with the guy I think shot him and he thought it was the same deer. I also found a side to a would be 6 point but extremely palmated/tall/heavy and I think he's an old deer but have never seen him or don't have any pics. I also picked up a 2yo 4 pt side to a basket 8 and a spike.

Buddy found a side to a 90"ish 8 point a a nice 5 point side with an extra 1" drop so 6 total points on that one. That's the 1st drop any of us have even found shed hunting.

Sounds like you're doing pretty good.

I haven't gone in quite a while now and likely won't be either anymore this year.

Yea this is the time of year is when I've historically done the best.... Typically I'll go when I can from now until it gets too green and bugs get nasty. I enjoy getting out in snow and looking but one small snowfall can cover up antlers, they can sink in deep snow, white antlers blend in with white snow, etc... Right after snow melts, grass and leaves are matted down and antlers tend to stick out a little better for my aging eyes. Although I like getting out in winter, I'll almost always do better in spring.

I'll try and snap a pic this afternoon or tomorrow of last weeks haul.

I make a habit of going when there's plenty of snow though because trails and beds are much easier to find and make note of for after snow melt.

Wife gets her wisdom teeth out tomorrow so that pretty well screws my weekend and here on out i'll be busy getting machinery ready and start planting corn.

Got a new puppy that I'm hoping to train for sheds for next season so that will be fun.
