Damn that looks like a heck of a spot.

I have a friend up just south of the Grand Rapids area, they got 15" of snow yesterday. Leader had 25" and Orr 24.6"

If too much snow, the ground won't freeze and then no way with the wet ground can they harvest the corn.

Per Intellicast, another round of snow coming for Tuesday/Wed: 4-6" for the TC area. 6-9" for St Cloud, 3-5" for Fergus falls, 4-8" for Duluth, 2/3" of rain for Rochester then 1" snow, same for Mankato

Yeah looks like the farmer will be kicking himself I'd say 20% of his corn got blown down yesterday. Sucks for him but hoping the deer love it and maybe they will stick around past solid freeze up, they typically winter elsewhere

Pretty slow, I'm starting my cutback and going to mostly hunt fronts coming through and weekends. Nothing tonight or sunday and minimal tracks around the standing corn. Just can't believe there's nothing around with all that corn there. Prolly won't be out again til Saturday

By chance are there other nearby big corn fields where they may be feeding at?

Snuck out last night, been a while since I went. Seemed there was a little more movement in the last week, had a couple on camera. Had a doe and 2 fawns under my stand walking in, that was all I saw

Probably my last sit of the year tonight, saw a doe and 2 fawns. 18 degrees wasn't terrible tonight but it's only getting colder, ain't going to be sitting in a tree at 0 degrees. Well, maybe I would if I had any evidence of that buck being around, but no visuals or pics of him. Maybe he'll be bigger next year. Good luck to anybody willing to brave the cold still, time for me to start smoking meat again

take heart, as it's supposed to warm up next week, like 20s. and 2 weeks from now 30s, per the Accuweather long term forecast.

I hope so.... I have 1 in the freezer and really enjoy late season hunting.... sitting in single digits is tough for archery though. 20's and 30's is just downright perfect.

My season was a let down. Had 3-5 bucks that I would have considered shooters but barely got any time to get out. Saw more bucks this year while on stand than in many years previous to this but no shooters. Checking cameras, it seemed like I was always a half a day behind them (go figure).

Got a couple new hang ons this winter to try to sneak in closer to bedding for next year. Neighbor is putting in about 7 acres of CRP next to some of my best ground so that should help my cause. Maybe not this first year but years to come.

Next year will be the year! I hope..
