2017 Deer Hunting

On my 5 mile trip home from work I seen two sets of fawns and a single out standing by themselves in three spots looking towards the wooded areas by them. Guessing love is in the air.

All I can say is mid day, mid day, mid day.

Didn't see crap tonight, had an 8 pt on cam at 12:55 yesterday afternoon. Mid day as gimp says haha.

I still don't have any shooters on cam though... already thinking if I see a decent buck gun hunting this weekend SE mn may take the shot. Last 5-6 years I've had big bucks I've been chasing bow hunting so wanted to keep my tag open, this year not seeing much

I had a good show last night.... just nothing old enough. Lots of fighting, scraping, chasing and grunting.

Tomorrow after this weather moves through might justify an all-day sit.

Oh and I wish I had another camera to see who is doing this 50 yards from the house. Smaller tree but it is trenched out around it like someone had some weight behind him. I knew I'd find something in the grove since I can hear it walking through the leaves in the front yard at night.

I watched two shooters about 400 yards away tonight scent checking the neighbors crp. Half hour more sunlight I think it would have happened.

I'm didn't see anything, jumped one walking to the stand.just not many deer holding around there with the swamp flooded I think.

Tonight was my last sit before gun season, gonna pack, do paperwork, and smoke pork shoulders tomorrow night for deer camp in se mn
