Savage "B Mag" Rifle

I was at the gun show in the River Center yesterday and found several of these for sale at some cheap prices. (i.e. rifle & 2-boxes of shells for $275.00)

This hyper .17 cal. rimfire was supposed to be the next great predator cartridge, but I hear there is no great love for it. (i.e. Poor accuracy of 2" - 3" groups @ 100 yards)

Does anyone have experience or own one of these?

One of my dads friends is a big gun nut and always buys the new stuff when it comes out. He bought 2 of those rifles and does not own either one of them now. Poor accuracy and lack of ammo made him sell.
