Some years I do, but most is in the river bottom. Not many places you can hunt hardwood then a mile away your hunting cedar, cattail slews or a meadow.

That's for sure. My best luck so far has been in CRP fields along creeks.

Bought a cottontail distress call today....wails pretty good. Hopefully get a chance to try it out this weekend.

when I started calling I used a rabbit fur hat as a decoy, I laid it right on top of the speaker,
The very first set with the "new" johny stewart tape player, I had a yote charge the fur hat at 40yds!!

Is this strictly a night time sport? We are going pheasant hunting tomorrow and we always see yote tracks.

I've peppered a yote with 20 ga. pheasant load before. He just looked pissed as he peered over his shoulder back at me as he jogged away.

Took 4 shots of 3" #5 turkey loads to keep one down at 30 yards. Little sucker asked for it when he tried to eat my new decoy. Was cool to see it put the sneak on the decoy for over 100 yards across a pasture. Never new they belly crawled.
