Yote Caliber Recommendations?

Sun Nov 16, 2014 12:14 pm

I need a new hobby, so killing some yotes seems like a good thing. I'm anticipating that most of my shots will be 100-200 yards and less. I don't care about the pelt condition, just dead coyotes.

Cabela's is currently offering a Savage Axis II Package (With adjustable Accutrigger and Weaver Scope) for about $349.00. It seems like a good deal.

I'm thinking of either a .223 or .243. What do you recommend?

Never go wrong with a .243. Plus you can reach out further with one.

I've got a savage in 22-250.
Ask Al how to successfully nest wood ducks, see you next season.

A .243 it is! By accident, I came across a deal on a slightly used Ruger American .243 that I could not refuse.

Now the Yotes are either going to die by bullets or by laughter!

Good deal. Put some 70 or 80 grain loads in that thing and sight it in about 1" high at 100 yards. You can even put 100 grainers in it and shoot a deer next fall.

It come with a scope?
