I heard that they had around 4000 people, 150 or so fish caught and a 4lb northern won it...I didn't go back this year, went spearing instead and looked at a empty spear hole for 5 hrs....

It was a great tourney. Weather was awesome. I actually marked around 10 fish, but no takers. About 10 of those fish caught were within 50 yards of me. Oh well.

I'll try it again next year.

Did you go last year ? curious how the numbers were this year compared to last year, one person told me more people and the other told me less people this year......at least some fish were caught......

Didn't go last year but I live in the area. It was set up in the same spot as it was last year. There were around 2,600 tickets sold. I wouldn't be shocked if that bumped up to 4,000+ next year after a decent showing after a piss poor first year.

The weather was brutal last year. This year it was nice and a fair amount of fish were caught. Next year if good weather, I bet they could sell 4,000 tickets.

You may be correct. I read a report last week that is was very cold last year and why attendance was better this year. Frankly I do not remember. I remember reading too that you could enter the fishing area at 8AM, but no fishing until 12N. If cold out, that is a long wait out in the open... I bet the outside corners are taken right away.

It was cold last year. The beers made it tolerable. Only the one fish caught the whole tournament.
