Still looking good up there Nershi? Don't see anything in the weather since we were last up there that would make me think anything different. Think its gone over freezing 3 days since then haha. Planning on heading up one last time this weekend

We drove trucks out on small lakes on Saturday and it has made ice since then. Didn't measure but probably had 2+ feet. If you venture out on a big lake like Leech or Winnie you may want to consider a quad. I heard about some bad spots on some of the big lakes last week although they have probably healed up since then...better to play it safe though. We should have fishable ice through March unless something drastically changes.

Probably do one last weekend on the ice then start prepping the boat for Superior.

Thanks! Noticing panfish transitioning shallower or still deep? We set up on a major break about 22' deep last time and we're getting some but not numbers...Mud bug hatch off the bottom made it hard to mark fish too though

Lake Minnewashta refroze up with the cold. (see the last 2 photos on previous page).

I still have ponds that I could not safely walk on today even after all this cold weather. Others I could walk on 2-4" of solid ice.

The power of the sun is something as by noon the top 1" of soft slushy ice.

They were still out deep in the lakes I fished last weekend but my buddy hit a different shallow basin lake this week and the deeper water was empty and he moved shallow to mud/rocks and found em. It seems to vary from lake to lake at this time of year in my experience.

Bring your ice cleats. Most lakes are glare ice.

Couldn't find the crappies, perch were starting to get pretty active in the shallow mud flats. Plenty of ice, couple trucks still driving out on our lake. Was actually surprised to see a few on mille lacs as we drove by
