^^^ Dumbazz morons.

I stopped by Medicine Lake yesterday - on shore it was 5" in the bay per a homeowner getting his 4x8 permie ready. But the guy said he did not think there was even 2" in the middle of the lake.

This freaking snow storm sure will screw it up for awhile. The snow is heavy and wet. it'll push the ice down and lots of water will come up. I'm not heading out for at least a few days until it can freeze solid. I have over 3" already with another 2-4" yet to come. :(

Jackson had 4" at 5:30; Waterville had 5" at 4:30; Lakeville had 3.5" at 6; north metro has 2" at 6pm
At 7pm there is an intense thunderstorms in IL that are headed N. And a big yellow glob of rain is showing up on radar in S. WI - that is heading NW, expect heavy snow yet in SE Mn and W WI in the next 1-5 hrs
St Joe MO had a barometer of 29.11 at 1pm which is unusually low, that indicates how wound up this big storm is. To put that # in perspective, at Coon Rapids Mn, they have not been below 29.50 all year. The storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975 was 28.95 inches.
The clouds from this system stretches from Mex to northern ON Canada

Some fisherman got to do some trolling on the St Louis harbor ice this weekend. I got several texts from people wondering if I was out there. Rescue crews had to go get a few dozen fisherman with boats.

Wow! Dandy Perch for sure!

Did the water come up on the ice with the deep snow in SW MN? I heard lots of 6-8 reports

I had 4", but in Scott Cty they had 6"+, north metro had 2"

Late last winter I broke the tip off my favorite micro light rod by South Bend that was way old. (I looked down while fishing and wondered whats that twig by the hole? Never did figure out how it broke off.) Way back when there was L, UL and micro light rods. Similar to what noodle rods are today in that I did not need a spring tip as the front 1/3 of rod was so limber and sensitive.

I've been looking to replace it, its impossible to find 1 like it. I've checked Ebay etc more than a few times to no avail, closet was 1 from 2002. :?

Anyway, bought a 30" Shakespere noodle rod from FF last night. I hope it comes close to the other 1, but the old SB flexed the front 2/3 of the rod more than the noodle does which is just the front 1/3 of the rod Also bought another 30" UL combo by Celsius too, but it is not as flexible as the micro lite SB I had. :(

I think RRs combs are like guns, you cant have too many. Myself I don't change jigs, I change rods as its faster. 8-)

So have you guys bought any additions to the ice fishing gear this winter?
