I stopped by Medicine Lake yesterday - on shore it was 5" in the bay per a homeowner getting his 4x8 permie ready. But the guy said he did not think there was even 2" in the middle of the lake.
This freaking snow storm sure will screw it up for awhile. The snow is heavy and wet. it'll push the ice down and lots of water will come up. I'm not heading out for at least a few days until it can freeze solid. I have over 3" already with another 2-4" yet to come.
Jackson had 4" at 5:30; Waterville had 5" at 4:30; Lakeville had 3.5" at 6; north metro has 2" at 6pm
At 7pm there is an intense thunderstorms in IL that are headed N. And a big yellow glob of rain is showing up on radar in S. WI - that is heading NW, expect heavy snow yet in SE Mn and W WI in the next 1-5 hrs
St Joe MO had a barometer of 29.11 at 1pm which is unusually low, that indicates how wound up this big storm is. To put that # in perspective, at Coon Rapids Mn, they have not been below 29.50 all year. The storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975 was 28.95 inches.
The clouds from this system stretches from Mex to northern ON Canada
