We were on 13" of ice. Some guys on 9". Still very variable. Took us 45 minutes to get to our spot because of snow drifts.

Did they get the 4 wheeler and fish house out by stoney point ???

Haha yeah it was a little unnerving. We were pulling out to the inlet as they were pulling that stuff out of the water. Don't know how long they were there before we got there but they worked on it for about 3 hours while we were there.

I talked to two older fellas that were setting up the same time as us from Marshall. They said exactly what you just said as far as details. Never know what to believe in a situation like that.

Anybody have any reports on ice conditions for smaller lakes in Cass County? Been reading some reports of very poor ice conditions with a lot of snow and slush. Amazing how well that snow insulates the ice from -35 temps. My cabin is on a small 500 acre lake up there and we usually take wheelers but sounds like its a chore to get around even on a sled.

Anybody know if travel up north on smaller lakes(Cass County) is doable with a wheeler and mud tires? Finally making it to the cabin for some crappies next weekend, just trying to figure out if I can bring my wheeler or if I should borrow my Dad's sleds.

I have not been up there, but I would think that there is at least 18" of snow up there.

I was on Leech last weekend and you would have been able to get around on a wheeler with good tires. Big lakes tend to have less snow because most of it blows off. It looked like there was a 1-2 feet in the woods and smaller lakes. If I were you I would try to get a sled but you may be able to make it work with a wheeler and a shovel. The further east you go the deeper the snow gets.
