Fished Pelican in wright county with tip ups. Caught no fish, killed a 12 pack with my buddy.
Wife picked us up and was in a sour mood about the no fish.

She loves to make fish tacos out of Pike

Red Lake--8" or more out a ways on most of the lake. More on the east side it seems, as we saw a couple pickups out there on the way by on Sunday. All this snow is a bummer. Most of the Bemidji area lakes have 5 or more inches but some of the large, deep lakes have less.

The DNR reported that vehicles are going through the ice this week up by Alex area.

I did see vehicles yesterday parked on the shoreline and they were walking or taking ATVS out on Lake Minnetonka.

Taking a wheel house out on Red this weekend. LOTW has been on fire! Should be a good season up there.

I guess you don't like living on the edge, then, eh?

Years back in my portable 4 x 7 while fishing for Walleyes on Minnetonka, 1 hole was 3" and 1 was 2" and open water 20' beyond that.
And get this I hear all theis nonstop ice cracking--a freakin small truck drove out on to the ice to check us all out and he could clearly ice the main lake was open water 100' away  There was 4" of good clear ice and he did not break through! I thought for sure he would have gone through! They say God looks after fools, as there is no other reason why that fool did not fall through.

A reilable report from a friend that said he had 12" on Tonka Bay of Lake Mtka last night and that a
vehicle had driven on the ice. That is the beginning of the end as once vehicles start driving around the fishing goes to hell.
