I've got a couple at 80% or so. Don't look to be coming back. Time to get the chain!

All of our oaks contracted "smooth bark disease"!?!? this spring all the bark started to sluff off and I thought they all died!!! after some research it is a fungus that gets between the live part of the bark and the dead. basically creates a void in that layer and the dead bark falls off the tree. From what I've read it won't kill the tree.

^^^^ That's the 1st I've heard of it. I just knew about Oak Wilt.
Curious, which type of Oaks are these that got the disease? Red, White, Pin, Burr, etc...
.

they are all burr oak. from what I've read white oak is the most susceptible. Oak wilt is in the core of the tree but still a fungus.
