No. I never target mergansers and I only shoot them if they offer sporting shot.

I pass on them fish eaters.

Lets put it this way of how many actually target Mergs - how many Mergy decoys do you see manufacturers making?

Yes I have, it's fun. Commons might be my favorite duck. They taste just fine when turned into sausage.

I can't say I have but if I the opportunity was there and I didn't have a lot of other bird hunting options at the time---I don't see why I wouldn't.

Yes Why wouldn't you, when shooting mergy your daily limit is 11 birds
You can bad mouth a mans gun, his shooting, and his women but bad mouth his dog them's fighting words.

How could you actually target a species, or for that matter, have species specific limits, when no one can identify a bird....

aka: no teal season

aka: no bonus teal bag

Starts to seem laughable to me....

Anyway, a full limit of spoonbills has always intrigued me more.

Look at the lips on those things.

They sure come in to the goldie spread good late in the year. I let em pass but my buddies mistake them for teal and shoot em up.
