My dad always reminds me of this " I never owned a decoy and shot lot's of ducks"

My Dad still says, "On opening day back in the fifties, the sky would be full of ducks as far as the eye could see. You wouldn't believe how many there were." (while sitting in a blind at Mud Lake in the Mud/Goose WMA)

What I remember from the sixties, is freezing my ass off in cotton long johns and inferior clothing while Dad's friend was either barfing or hanging his bare ass but over the side of the boat paying for the sins of the prior night.
