That's not an option. It'd be like bird watchers paying duck hunters to quit duck hunting. Or like the tribe buying out the resorts instead (which they've been doing).
You're assuming they net solely for the money.
Maybe the tribes should buy the state out of their sports fishing rights instead? Just make the lake catch and release only with the tribes giving the resorts a few hundred-thousand pounds of walleye fillets they can hand out to their clients.
Afterall, the issue here is guys not being able to bring home more fish----problem solved. Guys wouldn't even have to worry about cleaning them!
The bottom line is this lawsuit is idiotic and pointless and will be a waste of the DNR's funds to have to defend themselves.
The lake is fine. It's full of little walleyes after an exceptional 2013 year class followed up by a solid 2014 one. Give the lake a couple years and everything will be 'fixed' on its own.
