Sucks. Hopefully it will help spark the team over the next couple weeks. If Claeys finishes .500 on this season I say keep him for next year!

Jerry Kill is a great guy, both on and off the field. I'm glad to see that he finally put his health and his family before his career....I thought that he may have done it sooner with all of those prior seizures.

A: Fills up his bath tub, puts his clothes in, adds in detergent, then jumps in and waits for a seizure...removes stains better than any washing machine can!

I've been a fairly big Kill fan and supporter but something about this makes me think he's a fraud.

Part of it stems from what seems like stepping down right before your team is destined to lose out the season because they're not very good. They'll be lucky to win another game. They'll be extremely lucky to win a couple.

Do you think if the Gophers were undefeated and ranked he'd be stepping down?

Hell no.

I've already made a bet with a friend that Kill will be the next AD and that's what he's cunningly maneuvering to get. 6 months down the road his health issues will be much better and he'll take over as AD since he'll claim it's a much less stressful job than coaching and to continue his fundraising mission for the new practice facilities. Claeys takes over as new head coach and continues the programs march to mediocrity and is now bullet proof since Kill is the new AD.

And there you have it...the story of how a bunch of carpet bagger hicks from Kansas were able to take over the U of M despite never accomplishing anything at all besides successfully selling hope---

An Ode to Jerry Kill

There once was a coach from Kansas named Jerry Kill
His teams were fun to watch, boy they were a thrill
He was sick and for what ailed him there was no pill
Despite his professed love of coaching he decided to chill

The specialty he sold was building programs brick by brick
But stepping down because he knew he failed made him a dick
He never did find a quarterback that could throw and that clicked
The hooplah and false hope was merely one of his tricks

He was B1G coach of the year before Mizzou kicked his rear
He never won a single crappy bowl game despite all the cheer
The thought of parting with Paul Bunyan's axe Wisconsin never feared
He can now spend time with his family, grown old, and also a beard

In a year from now he'll say he feels good and become athletic director
The way he will oversee the university sports he might as well be dictator
He'll keep coach Claeys and the rest of his cronies and be their top spectator
Anyone who calls out the perpetual lack of success will be called a hater

From Haskins to Monson, Tubby and Pitino, from Lou Holtz's lisp to Whacker, Mason and Brew,
Even our good coaches are only decent enough to screw us too!

I actually like your idea and I think Kill would make a pretty solid AD.
