^^. Nope just a Fowler knock off post. Saw the flowers by my place and couldn’t resist.

Nice pile. How do the bass eat? I’ve had some out of cold water out of necessity on a camping trip and they were surprisingly good.

Nicely done, very much akin to the writing of the One and Only himself.

Smallmouth bass are my favorite freshwater fish to eat, at any time of the year I'll take them over a walleye or any other fish. My favorite fish to fish for is walleye, favorite to eat is smallmouth.

Their meat is more translucent with a pinkish hue to it than a largemouth, which tends to be more opaque and yellow, and seems to get much softer in the warm summer months. It's still good and I'll it whenever....but it's no smallmouth.

X's 2 on the smallmouth. I have fished them alot catch and release, and just assumed they were similar to large mouth. 4 or 5 years ago I hooked a 19" super deep and was going to die. Fillet'd and ate. It was the best Minnesota fish I've ever consumed. Never tried any out of warm water but river small mouth or lake smallies early on are better to my pallet than anything else in this state.

I was in boundary waters many years back, caught alot of small mouth, I couldn't believe how good they were, growing up in a area where there are no small mouth and if it's not a walleye it's not worth eating , I was quite impressed with small mouth......
