Had a gadwal get taken out by a powerline in Nd 2 years ago. It was a cool sight.

Watched a hen turkey get the wood taken to her in Wi 2 years ago. Dirty bird

Saw a goose 50ft up in a tree honkin its head off during breeding season in Southern Ill.

Saw a deer get closed line by a barbwire fence that was running 45 mph. It managed to get up and run away.

I found someones horticulture experiment early one fall while woodcock hunting. That was a pretty good hunting season if I remember right.

Had a big orange farm cat try to jump on my back while night hunting for coyotes. That will make your heart skip a beat or two. Scared me more than when coyotes tried to do that a few times.

Tucked up into a logjam (in the middle of nowhere) catfishing one night when we started hearing voices and whispering on both sides of the river. Never been back there after that.

Had a beaver crawl in the back of the boat while trying to stay awake catfishing one night.

Mt. lion tracks in my boot prints while coyote hunting.

Then there was that thing floating in the sky one night.

Ha I wouldn't of stayed, I'd of been gone in a heartbeat. Reminds me of a story but it's pretty far off topic but it does involve am animal (non hunting story)

Wasn't really hunting, but a few years ago when my chocolate lab was a pup ( 9-10 months) we were playing in the yard when I wished he had a duck to retrieve. A few minutes later a big gust of wind came up and a wood duck ended up hitting the power line and dieting in my front year. So anyway that was his first retrieve. This was about 1 month before the season started

I had a mouse climb out of a hole by my feet one time....it would run around, and go back in his hole....I had a pocket full of peanut M&Ms and would take the chocolate off and toss the nuts on the ground....he took every one of them back into his hole!

I too had a heron land on the boat on LOTW one summer!

I was hunting in the west metro last year, and I seen an older, bearded man, tending to some wood duck houses and mallard hen houses on slough we were hunting.

One of the oddest things i've seen in a long time. I thought only suckers did that anymore...
