I have a lot of buddies that are pretty serious deer hunters. They have some monsters on camera but everything is at night. They don’t get big by being dumb. Seems they are being more nocturnal during the rut than normal this year according to what I’ve been hearing.

Good luck if you get after him mlds.

Had an otter rolling around in the snow like a dog this morning. He seemed happy to have some ice to hang out on. He has been around a lot so hopefully that means there are lots of crappies hanging out in the little hole by my house this winter.

I see otters so rarely. Very fun to watch. Even mink are fun to watch run around.

We had them in our pond one year which is very weird. In like 20 yrs hunting out there only saw them the one year...and seemed aggressive. Loud nasaly breathing. Like standing upright in the water staring into our souls. Was odd

When I was in my teens I was walking a dyke scouting and came upon one and my dog went in the water to investigate and the otter and my dog came nose to nose and had their heads up high just checking each other out. They eventually went their separate ways wondering wtf was that thing. I thought it was the coolest thing. Later I came to find out they can tear a dog apart if they get in to a battle in the water.

Coons and dogs in the water are very dangerous as well.

Thanks...pic from sat was just after shooting hours in the am. So he comfortable on our land. Question is if he stays bedding in our swamp though these cold temps. Dad didn't get a deer gun hunting this year partly due to his gf being crazy and getting them kicked out lol. he dropped my griddle off sat am when he'd typically hunt through sun. Long story. But trying to get him out muzzleloader

Dog did pretty good for first time out this year. Should have had the limit but second one stayed pretty low and wasn't comfortable shooting right away. This one stayed put and he did a good job slowly coming up on it, flushed it about 20'from me. Only walked 2 spots flushed about 20 birds but all hens aside from the two i shot at. As you can see he was excited lol

My gal shot the same exact time that I did, and I was able to convince her that she was the one that hit it. She resisted but I said "those pellet holes gotta be from 4 shot and not 2 shot" and she bought it. Makes for a better story to say she shot it.
