Jess, Al Thomas, Fowler and Sidders were the first. . . . then me. All good guys actually.

Burger Brothers was the best sporting goods store of all time. I loved going there back in the day.

Reading these last couple threads about sporting good stores over the years, lot's have come and gone, forgot about a few of them, seems like yesterday I was walking into Herters in Glenwood , must of been about 1975 I'm thinking, that one's been gone a long time.................almost forgot about Burger Brothers.......

There was a Holiday Sports in Plymouth off of Rockford Road next to/connected to where the Cub now is (which was at the time Holiday Foods I believe). There may have been another off of 494 kinda in the 694 area. That may have been a Burger Brothers though. Both were converted over to Gander Mountain stores, as was the Burger Brothers in the old 7-Hi Mall in Minnetonka where Target is now off 7 and 101. The only memories I have of Holiday Sports is seeing my first ever Bigfoot honker decoy there and my mind being blown, my parents buying some cane poles for panfishing, and allegedly one time me and some other delinquent scheming in an aisle of trading cards opening several packs and sorting them into a pack or two worth of all the good players as my parents browsed the rest of the store.

Burger Brothers was definitely legit, but only vaguely remember going in there a few times (and seeing Fowler’s picture of the board) after hitting up our main destination of OCB back when that place was the shit. Herters in Fridley was amazing though! Just this relatively tiny space in a nondescript strip mall, but it was absolutely full of stuff.
