You realize the fish is quite a bit in front of your head though right?

Regardless, Nice fish!

Right the way I measured it that does not matter. My head measured in the picture and my head in real-time is the same regardless of depth, same with the fish.

I can't tell if you're joking or not...

Next time you catch a nice pike take a traditional pic like the one you posted and then take a second picture from the same vantage point with your buddy holding the fish a few feet behind you.

Then use your same unit of measurement, your head, and measure the fish in each picture. Newsflash: they will be different lengths. How in the phuck would depth not matter?

Jason Mitchell's face is 10" from top to bottom...so by my calculations he's holding an approximate 50" walleye. Nice fish Jason!

Come on, Harold. Just admit you're trying to get a rise out of the measurement police.

I guess this means the trees in the background are all roughly 10 - 13 inches tall in real life.

Right but you have to use PI and then allow for the curvature of the earth to calculate that.

Get a tape that starts with "0" and works its way up. Theoretically speaking a 47 inch Pike will be over 30 pounds, that one is not close, nice fish and probably a nice fight. When you get one over 40 you'll know, should be around 20 pounds. A lot of people get excited with big fish and tend to over do it a tad
