I used to take my dads dog "Moose" along with mine sometimes to train in summer at the river, one time I had my nephews with and we were swimming with the dogs.
one of them found a closed live clam shell and threw it in the river where it was a foot deep, then the dog ran over and started feeling with his paws on the bottom and then plunged his head under and came up with the clam, he did this several times even in deeper water, it was pretty funny to see.
