Gonna do some pickled pike soon. Caught a pile of crappies but just kept enough for a meal. Handful were tankers.

Riley just froze last night. Just needed the wind to drop and it was ready to go
Still had swans and geese on it yesterday....

Now, clear calm nights, low temps, and no snow.....

Found a set if plans for the old school portable my dad had. Have to figure out dimensions to fit into the Fusion and Maximize house space....

Hopefully folks are cautious on lakes up north. I fished a lake last weekend that had 8+ inches of ice and a few hundred yards away was open water. The lake my old man lives on froze a couple weeks back but one small spot about 25 yards wide remained open. The family was out skating last week in front of their house on about 5 inches. Now after the big wind 1/4 of the lake is open including where they were skating a few days earlier. Neither of these lakes have springs or current. Needless to say ice thickness is not consistent on a lot of lakes. I have a feeling some will find that out the hard way.
