SWFA mil/mil fixed 6x or a 3-9HD is going to be your best friend for the $$ without jumping up to nightforce or bushnell. Nothing else in that price range even gets close in terms of reliability/repeatability (which is going to be what fails on scopes that you dial). The fact that they come out of Light Optical Works in Japan makes them even better value....

I'd keep the fullfield however. probably won't get much on resale and for a set-n-forget scope they're not bad.....

I was thinking of saving up and putting a Trijicon model in 3-18x. Something like their Credo HX. Or just sell my AR entirely, as I don't really need it for much now that I have a carbine build I really like that would probably work just as well for coyote hunting in MN the two times a year I go.

I’ll second everything thing mallard manic said. Brownells also has a scope of their own now that also comes from light optical works

This is daddy’s new build. Probs done with AR rifles after building this one out with mostly primo parts.

This is the AR I’m taking the Luepold off. Gonna have to put a new optic on it or sell it at some point.

Honestly if you're willing to spend the kind of $$ that, that particular model of trijicon costs.... you'd be able to buy a Nightforce SHV or for a couple hondo more a NXS compact which would go on that gun like it was made for it. Their SHV is a tremendous value for most (althgouh I have zero interest in scopes with MOA adjustments/reticles or anything SFP), they're built everybit as well as some of their higher priced models.

Do you own the pond EmptyMag? Any duck habitat or fish stocking potential?

Fence was there when we moved in.

We own a part of it. Ive got a few wood duck boxes planned for next spring and a mallard nest. The neighbors all have them. I figure there is 50-80 birds using this pond on a regular basis. Seems more mallards show up in the evening to roost. Not sure about fish, currently none in it. Its all mud/silt bottom and only about 6-8ft deep in the middle I would guess. It also has a water control gate that lets water flow into the pond behind it. As far a s fish I'm sure it would freeze out every winter. The kids are looking to ice skate on it this winter.

I wonder if any sago or wild rice would grow in it???
