honestly in the anchorage area its not too much different then the winters in mn. maybe a hour or 2 less of sunlight and generally more mild temps. Ice fishing, snowmachining, x country skiing, and trips to other places during non tourist season keeps us plenty busy. Its much more enjoyable going to some of the other places during non tourist season. Can still go out ocean fishing for kings in the winter as well. I think shes been around a while, most cows look pretty rough this time of year from dropping calves and shedding their winter coat. Dealing with the shedding hair on that road kill moose we got sucked.
