someone else who has drank smooth wisky...... its that's or JD single barrel. Mixed in my Last names all glass cup that consists of 3 handfuls of ice and 10 count on the bottle and a splash of diet coke for color....

Try pendleton with a splash of that propel water stuff. Don't need much, just enough to add a hint of flavor. IMO pendleton is almost too smooth to mix with any type of pop. I use propel or filtered tap water.
I tried the black velvet toasted caramel last night...good with coke and dr. Pepper. Couldn't pass it up for $8.99 on sale for a 750ml. Pretty good for a mid shelf brand.

That reminds me of a good trick to make not so good whisky/scotch/bourbon better is to take a freshly emptied Propel or any gatorade bottle and fill it with the liquor, let it sit for a day or two and it picks up the gatorade flavors. I wouldn't do that to the good stuff though.

Do any of you realize that "mixed" drinks did not exist prior to the 1920s? After Prohibition came into place, the boot leggers "rot gut" whiskey, "bathtub" gin, etc. was so bad that you had to mix in soda pop, etc to be able to stand the taste. One of the resulting drinks was the tequilla, orange juice and grenidine which we call today a Tequilla Sunrise. Others were the 7&7, Rum & Coke, etc..

I will be starting with Bloodies then moving to Crown or Pendleton on the rocks and once things start getting slippery I'll move to Sierra Nevada Pale Ales or Torpedo's. Tis the season!

"Tis the season..."~ seems that was the plan duck season

When it gets slippery, one must watch for the No Shoulder signs 8-)
