She freaked out at first and dragging her back to the truck to get tools was not a fun experience for her or I but after that it wasn’t too bad. I held her down and one guy went to work. She fought it at first but then realized we were helping and was pretty chill. A guy on our trip had one get hit before and the vet told him to snip the quills before pulling them out. I guess it helps release pressure in the quill. She had a fair number of them but they weren’t deep. Looked like it may have been a young porky or maybe just not a solid hit. Never saw it happen.
We got them out and let her chill for 10 mins then we were back to hunting. Didn’t faze her at all.
She is a pretty big softy on any animals other than birds. My guess is she was creeping up on it to sniff it and say hello and got a painful lesson, hopefully one she doesn’t forget. Better than a skunk spray.
