I'm not gonna do anything too crazy trip wise this fall til I feel I'm settled in 100% but next year we'll see.

Would like to spend a couple nights in western MN going after pheasants in Dec vs doing day trips if possible. Well see

A good number of birds came down late last week with the cool down, north winds and moon. Had some excellent duck shoots for early October. Almost no hunting pressure which was odd. Lots of grouse hunters out and about. Great weekend overall other than showing up to the cabin to find out that a grouse had busted out a screen porch window kamikaze style.

Anybody else see an influx of new birds?

My new Iphone take's pics that are too large to upload here. So until I can take the time to figure out a resizing app I have no way to share pics here.

Too bad gimpfinger went nutz. He used to provide some quality info and mentioned woodcock. I wonder how late they hang in southern MN… and if there’s really any number of them or people hunting south of…. I dunno I94?

My understanding is that prime time around Bemidji is approximately Oct 10-25. I would think there’d be very few anywhere in state after Halloween

I think we lost birds down here. The next few days could bring some birds down. Calendar migrators have started.

When you select a photo on the new iPhone it should let you resize it right on the phone before you post it.

Fall bite is better than the ducks right now. Ratl traps, shallow crank baits, stick baits and the like on the shallow rocks is money. Helps when they chase the bait fish to the surface.

Sure looks like good conditions for it. It’s always tough when you gotta work and conditions are prime.

Nice work on the fish! I always tell myself I’m gonna fish more in the fall but it rarely happens after bird season starts.
